The Cake Batter
'Well, let us hope for the best and try to move as quickly as we can,' replied Jack. Jack was always like that. Trying to make the best of things with a never say die attitude. I glanced behind myself and looked at the long queue stretching behind me. I doubted we could reach in time.
Our leader William who was leading, stood erect and bellowed, 'Buck up everyone if you want to have any dinner.'
Slowly we covered the distance to the destination inch by inch. We waited to take a rest for a few minutes. We were very close now. I grinned at the thought of the meal that awaited me at journeys end. To my utter horror, I suddenly saw a human hand picked up the cake batter and shove it into the oven. Our entire ant community had to go without dinner one more night.
