The Christmas Present

The Christmas Present

Jonathan the reclusive billionaire was a heart patient. My wife and I, his sole relatives, had killed him. I was a cardiac surgeon and got myself appointed in the team chosen to perform his heart surgery. It took some ingenuity to kill him while operating as a team.

That happened last Christmas and we had inherited Jonathan's billions. I woke up on Christmas this year and found my wife opening a glowing package that had arrived. Suddenly she screamed and dropped it. Out tumbled a beating heart with a ribbon around it and a label that said 'Love From Jonathan'.
